Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Support the client's end-of life planning and legacy project

  • Support family

  • Participate in rituals

  • Provide presence and comfort during the vigil and dying process

  • Maintain role boundaries as a non-medical support

  • Collaborate with hospice, palliative care, chaplains, social work, and nursing

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree

  • Completion of recognized End-of-Life Doula training program required

  • End-of-Life Doula certificate through a national or regional doula organization with a minimum of 1 year experience providing support in end-of-life setting
